Salesforce Assist

Salesforce Assist browser extension

Every Salesforce Assist tool one click away from your browser toolbar. Click the icon, pick a tool (or type to search) and it opens in a new tab - Org Doctor, Schema Lister, Org Compare, Data Compare, Package Builder, Automation Switch and File Archive.

Version 1.0.0 · .zip · needs no permissions - it never reads your pages, tabs or Salesforce data.

How to install

Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera

Install from the downloaded .zip

  1. Download the Chrome / Edge / Brave file above and unzip it into a folder you will keep (e.g. Documents › SalesforceAssistExtension).
  2. Open the extensions page: chrome://extensions (Edge: edge://extensions, Brave: brave://extensions).
  3. Turn on Developer mode (top-right; in Edge it is in the left menu).
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
  5. Click the puzzle icon in the toolbar and pin Salesforce Assist.

Firefox

Install from the downloaded .zip

  1. Download the Firefox file above (no need to unzip).
  2. Open about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox.
  3. Click Load Temporary Add-on… and choose the downloaded .zip.
  4. Pin Salesforce Assist from the extensions (puzzle) menu.

Firefox removes temporary add-ons when it restarts. For a permanent install the add-on has to be signed by Mozilla - ask your admin, or see the note below.

Updating

When a new version is published here, download it again and replace the files in the same folder, then click the reload icon on the extension card (chrome://extensions). Firefox: load the new .zip again. For permanent Firefox installs and automatic updates, the extension can be published to the Chrome Web Store / Edge Add-ons / Firefox Add-ons (Mozilla signing) - the same .zip files are used for that.
